can we change column name in a table

can anyone help to change the column name
what i know is
alter table tablename rename cname1 to cname2
if itis not right what is the correct one .

How do you want to do this? Through ASP.NET? SQL?

If you know the SQL command, just execute it as you would execute a standard SQL statement.
