While using Act to generate e-mails I get the MS Outlook message box that indicates "a program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook.
Do you want to allow this"
If this is unexpected it may be a virus and you should choose No. Allow access for x number of minutes.

I have just upgraded to Outlook 2000 and this is new and rather of irritating.
Can it be turned off easily?

No, it can not be turned off easily. To do so, you would have to uninstall Outlook, then reinstall it without applying the e-mail security update or SP-3. The easiest workaround is to use something like: PTFB

But, be warned...If you use this and do get a virus that can access your address book, you will not be able to stop it from sending- you will have defeated the security measure MS implemented to curtail the spread of virii.
