I would like to generate an auto number on a field, the number need's to start at 100 and increase by 1 for every new record created. I'm not to sure on how I would go about doing this or if there is a way of modifing the autonumber properties to achieve this result.

When you create the table, in the General tab in the bottom left of the screen, you have a "format" property... Just set this value with a "\" before...

example : Start at 100

format = \100

This should work

Hi maximo1970, Deulyd,

All that your solution does is change what is displayed. Your example APPEARS to make the Autonumber start at 100 to begin with. When you have added 100 records you will find that the next record (after 199) displays as 1000. Underneath it all the actual autonumbers generated and saved in the table are 1,2,3, etc. as normal.

There is a way to force autonumbering to begin (or continue) from a particular point but it is not something you should normally be doing - see thread705-608327 for more details.

Enjoy,
Tony

Wow you're right Tony! Thanks... my error. The other solution that you suggested was what I thought doing at first but I found out that other "wrong" way.

Thanks for the update!
