Can soft consoles connect via public IP

Just wondering how i can get the avaya soft console to work from a remote location using a public IP address rather than via a VPN. Our support team has recommended using the IP SEC tunneling that comes with the avaya, though voice is not support on it by avaya.

Would anyone have a suggestion for me?

The system i'm trying to get this work on is a demonstration unit so licencing is no concern, just not sure where to start.

Demo's can be giving with the IPOffice anywhere installed.
Do a search for it and carry a demo unit in a bag

What concerns are there if I place an IP Office in a DMZ with a public IP? Assume strong passwords.

How can you demo a softconsole without a phone?
If it is for the screen then login on a softconsole with Administrator and password on IP 192.168.42.1
This will allow a demo login but no calling info.
