hi

I know there are lots of public proxies(Http, ftp, smtp)but are there proxies that can forward packets to more then just one destination port(not the destination port of proxy server but of the final host)?
If for example I had two apps, one trying to connect to host with destination port 160 and other trying to connect to host with destination port 300,could both connect via same proxy ?
I'm asking if I can use the same public proxy for IRC,Yahoo chat, web surfing or any other programs(I imagine you it would be possible if you ran your own proxy on the same PC,but that wouldn't hide my IP from hackers)?

thank you

you probably want to look at a SOCKS proxy, like 'delegate' that would allow connection straight through the system ... port 1080 probably.

your IP isn't really hidden from hackers anyways, and they don't usually need your ip to get at your machine.

But how can you specify final destination port(whether it be 1600,300,25 etc)in a packet if you must specify port 1080 of a proxy server as a destination port of a packet?

ok ... you need to use applications that understand proxies in order to use proxies ... otherwise you can run special programs that allow you to do it, like:

not that i'm recommending it, but:

seems to link to a few things ( that might help ... maybe, but i've not checked it out.
