We have two networks tied together through a T1 line using Cisco 1601 routers at either ends. For some reason we can only browse computers through IP Addresses. We can't just do a name lookup. Any ideas?

You need to implement WINS (NT and windows 9.x) or DNS (win2k)

RouterMans right, some form of Naming translation has to be implemented. If you are using WindowsNT Servers with 9x based clients you need WINS enabled and all BDC's need to replicate (push/pull) their WINS databases. If you are using a Windows 2000 and above server with Active Directory you must have an internal DNS Sever. Set the DHCP server to supply the clients with the information (WINS or DNS) and they should be able to browse just fine by names. You could even ping by name or use (if on Win machine) NSLOOKUP will allow you to lookup host names through DNS.

one other thing is to make sure you have a DNS server IP in your settings for DNS resolution, either at your location or a server that your ISP has set up for you to use for DNS resolution.

Another possiblity if you dont have many hosts that need resolution is just to add entries to a host file on the host that needs to access whatever over the wan. It would be overkill IMO to do ip-helper and let all those ports though if you only have 1 host that needs access.
