I am running winXP and took the old hard drive out of my gateway and placed it in my new dell. Long story short, I deleted the partition. I then used Fix it 3.0 and recovered all my files consisting of JPEG files and many others. I then transferred the files to my other hard drive and during the process they were renamed FIN, FIN0, FIN1 ect..(Talking about JPEG files only.) I try to open them and I get an error message that states "Can't find type." In fact, I get this message for all files that I try to open. The file structure sytem that was on the deleted partition hard drive was RAW. Can anyone help me out on this one?

Thanks

after it gives you that message, windows will also give you a list of programs that will possibly open the file. you can select Internet explorer since it can open Jpeg files or you can manually open the file in internet explorer as well. Try it out. it should work.
