My home network is completely wireless. I have 4 machines on the network. Suddenly, my server can not access the network.

I have checked the device through device manager and it is ok. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. Nothing works.

I don't get any error message.

I am using Windows 2K3 Server, Wireless G PIC.

I even switched the card out with one of the other machines. The other machine still worked and the server still didn't work. I changed the slot on the mother board but still the same results.

It wouldn't be a big deal but it is my SERVER!!!!

Please help

thanks,
enak

Did you recently install SP1 on the server? If so, check the firewall.

I did install sp1 and I checked the firewall. I turned the firewall off because I have one with my Linksys switch.

It still says that it can not find the network.

If your wireless switch has been setup to only allow 4 clients, it is possible that while your machine was off, a neighbor took that 4th seat.

I would also double-check that the security settings on the wireless connection haven't gotten hosed somehow. I'm not very familiar with securing wireless connections, but I do know that some forms of wireless security won't allow you to connect if the switch doesn't think you should.

I assume the machine hasn't moved (to a possible dead spot), or the wireless NIC hasn't had its antenna disconnected or anything. I suppose new electrical appliances nearby could also result in loss of carrier/signal.

None of the settings that I can think of have been changed on the server. Like I said above, all of the other machines can access the network.

I will look into the security and possible outsiders accessing the network.

Thanks.
