Hi,

I have a problem with a Metfame XP server that is installed on a W2000 server. Local Server IP address is 10.0.0.02, and the external that is fix by the supplier is 159.28.107.29 or whatever.
The 80 and the 1494 port has been set to released in the firewall for the communication of the Web client and the Server.

IIS 5 is installed on the Citrix server.

So my problem is when I try to connect to the server from a PC that is in the internet, then I get screen with Citrix window and the published applications, but if I clicking on the icon then the client tring to connect to citrix server without success.

2 minutes later it said: 'unable to connect Citrix server browser..."

Do anybody has any idea what should i check?

Many thanks!!!

Cheers,
Balazs

No I didn't.
I have Citrix Metaframe XP with FR3. As I know it hasn't NFuse.... But there is a Web Interface that I've installed. Maybe you calling this WI, am I right?

Do you have any idea, how can I configure or use WI?

Thanks
Balazs

Yes, I set the fix ip address with altaddr.
As the network administrator saw in the router monitor, there are comminucation on this altarnate IP on the 1494 port, and the firewall is opened for this and for the :80 port.

If I use ibrowser then I can see the Citrix web page and the shared/published application, but if I open it then the client said - unable to find Citrix Server browser - after 2 minutes

I can send printscreens if you want?

Thanks Balazs

Did you conifgure the server side firewall in Nfuseadmin properly?

Need to specify Normal and alternate address.

I think I didn't.

Where can I find this Nfuseadmin tool?

Thanks
Balazs

Right, this is my problem. Very similar to the Op's.

Citrix with Web Interface. Works fine on the office network, with the following details:

Metaframe Server: 192.168.1.12

Now, we have a public IP address: 234.234.234.12 (not the real one)

If I use Web Interface over the web, the following occurs:

I get the Citrix logon pages.
I get the applications
I click on an application.
I get the following message:

"Cannot connect to the Citrix Metaframe server."
"There is no Citrix Metaframe server configured on the specified address."

So I have done the following:

On the Citrix server, I have typed: ALTADDR /SET 234.234.234.12

I try again, the same thing occurs.

I open the Web Interface admin screen, and click on Server Side Firewall Settings.

I set the default address translation setting to ALTERNATE ADDRESS.

In the section below, I check the NORMAL button, type 192.168.1.12 and click the ADD button.

Then I check the ALTERNATE button, type 234.234.234.12 and add that.

Then I save, and APPLY SETTINGS.

Still doesn't work.

What am I missing here?

Oh well, sorted it. I set up a virtual server on the firewall to forward 1494 to the Citrix server. 443 was already forwarded, but I forgot that one.

Hope these ramblings prove useful to somebody!
