I was wondering if it's possible to use custom-made buttons in Access 2000? I know you can fancy up the plain old rectangular grey ones that Access supplies with a bitmap image but this is not what I'm really after. As a first step, does anyone know if it's at least possible to choose a colour other than grey? Ideal of course would be to be able to use one's own creations but I suppose Mr Gates isn't ready to allow us such freedoms!

You can create custom controls and register them for use with Access. Look at the Help topic on ActiveX controls.

Hi.

You can either 1) make buttons transparent and put labels behind them; then do whatever you want with the with forecolor and backcolor; or 2) you can do away with the buttons altogether, and put the code that would be in the button OnClick event into the labels OnClick event.

You can make "Hover Buttons", and do other things with the MouseOver, MouseDown and MouseUp events. You can make the button go from bold to normal or visa versa on the MouseDown and back to bold on the MouseUp.

You are practically unlimited in the way you can make a psuedo button perform with the Events in the property sheet.
