Is there any way to reconcile a backup job prior to actually running the job. I have noticed that some modifications to the servers cause errors/warnings, and being that I am the entire IT department it would make my life easier if I could know the job was set up correctly. -W.W.J.D?-

Nobody is the perfect administrator..(please post here if I am wrong lol)..the best thing to do is create a small backup job that encompasses a few small subdirectories from each session (on a spare tape)..and run it prior to the main backup job. If there are any problems with the job running they will be in the activity logs...there will more than likely be certain files that won't backup due to file locks etc..so play around with the options within the job and see if you can get a better coverage (try installing the agent for Open files if this becomes an issue)
