I would like to build a speed dial entry to include a # or an * to activate a FFC to cut down on the number of keys required to change a remote call forward extension. It doesnt seem to process an entry that has them. Suggestions?

no, you can send a */# in speed dial after an acod, or manual after answer supervision, from your term, send atdt commands, just make a file with the needed codes and copy and paste it to any pc with a modem on pbx analog line. ie atdt *87,3462# will transmit with an enter, the , is a 2 sec pause, don't know if this will work for your problem.
