Can I play DVDs on Windows XP?

Can I play DVDs on Windows XP but I don't have DVD player. Call me stingy if you want but the problem is I have got DVD player and a VCD player. If I am gonna get DVD player I will be chucked out of my house by my partner so lookin 4 an easy solution and remain at home at the same time as well.

Am I missing something - you have NO DVD player, but you want to play DVDs? (Do you mean your XP machine has a DVD drive? In which case with rioght software you can play DVDs on your PC).

Hi,
When you say "fe?" do you mean "free?"?

Neither of those applications are availble, legally, for free(please feel free, anyone, to prove me wrong ;-) ).

If you live anywhere near Bfd, there is a shop you can purchase Power DVD XP from for £6.78 - Now that is nearly "free".

Toshiba, have certainly shipped DVD drives without dvd playback software.

Also, purchasing oem DVD drives results in no dvd playback software.

How many threads have you got going here with the same question?

You can play some DVDs on a very old antiquated XM Player - I know because I've got one and I have watched them, but I don't why.

But it's not the operating system that plays them, it's the bit of kit you install that does it. Regards
