Can i make a stored procedure wait? 1

Is there any simple commands within tsql that will tell the procedure to wait.....

Mainly need this for error checking.

Basically i am querying a holding table for employee number, if employee number exists i want to wait a few seconds then check again, and so on.

Yes, look up WAITFOR in BOL.
