We have relocated all but a few people(3) out of one of our locations and we are going to remove the PBX.
So far, I understand that DID numbers won't work without a PBX. The remaining people are distressed about having to change their numbers - and their FAX. Verizon is the LEC and the location is in New Jersey.
Any thoughts?

have them changed to pots lines or c channel bank depending on how many numbers you should be able to keep the numbers but depending on when this is taking place you might not be able to get a nearly seemless cutover. Talk to your rep at verizon

Not sure what they call it, but I think you can make them "virtual" and point them to another location in the cloud. Call your account rep at verizon, tell them what you want to do and they will come up with a solution. Anything is possible you just need to ask.

All good ideas. What are you installing in place of old PBX?
One more option, give them a new number and put a referral on the old number.

My Verizon rep has done more reasearch and yes, they will let us keep some of our DID numbers when we remove our PBX. They will convert them to POTS lines.

Thanks for your responses.
