I have a 2504, 2514, and 2501. I'm currently studying for my CCNA and after having bought my 2504, I wish that I wouldn't have because it has no Ethernet ports. I've got it linked to my other routers via v.35 Serial cable, but can't assign an ip address to any ethernet interface because it simply doesn't have one. What can I use a Token Ring for, for my lab with a DHCP connection to Verizon Avenue?

Thanks,
Seth

you could get a token ring nic and put a pc on that segment...

or you could simulate a frame relay switch with that...

I have a token ring cable, but what you are saying is I need a token ring NIC? Is that a pc card that attaches to my motherboard? What do those cost?

sorry for the stupid question, but I really know nothing about token ring.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, it's a "Network Interface Card", like your Ethnernet one. Maybe $500 or so new. I'd suggest Ebay.
