I can get to my Exchange Server through OWA and a fixed IP addrerss, is it possible to get to my File Server which is also on the same network?

Thanks

Hi,

U can access ur file server, thru ur exchange server, if u r using some remote administration software. If u want a console of ur file server then u should have a Fixed IP(Live IP) and a remote administration software like: pcanywhere or Remote Desktop.

Thanks for your reply, I was hoping I could just access somehow through the Exchange Server without any software.

joepalm,

Most routers support PPTP VPN's. They use built-in PPTP VPN through Windows. This will allow you to get to Exchange with Outlook 2K in workgroup mode AND access all your file servers, etc. just like you were at home. Just slower, of course.

I use the Netopia R9100. Works great. Linksys has some routers that will support PPTP as well.
