Can I control client DNS in Group Policy?

I have two Windows 2000 Domain Controllers on a network with about 80 PC's with static IPs, gateway, and DNS entries. I need to change the DNS IP addresses on each PC. I am trying to find in Group Policy on the DC where to enter my DNS servers. Or Domain sec policy, or DC sec policy. No luck.

Can this be done, or do I have to go to each PC to change this?

Why are you using static IP addresses on the workstations? Just configured DHCP to handle all of that.

I agree, DHCP would be a better solution, but this is what the big boss wants.

Meet him 1/2 way.

Use DHCP, but configure reservations for the machines. That way, they always get the same address, but you have the flexibility of changing things if you need to. You also get a higher view of IP address usage.

you can define the dns server i group policy, but you cant assign their tcp/static ip.

Ah okay, that's what I was trying to find out. So where in GP can you define this??

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > DNS Client > any settings you wish to configure are in here, the main one "DNS Servers"
