Is it possible Foxpro 2.6 for DOS or Window run on a Windows 2000 Server? I need do a remote access of terminal service by a application server mode on Windows 2000 Server.
HI,
FoxPro 2.6 generates errors when the power of the processor is higher.. I have found that it is giving trouble in 1.5 GHZ. But upto 1GHz computer I found that working normal. I have nothing to prove in concrete... such as why and what happens.
Hope this info is useful to you.

what ramani said is true and is an idenifed problem with older applications running on new processor. This problem started to appear when processors broke 300 mhz.
I read an article on Intel website once about this problem. something about the app is not able handle the defferent clock speeds between the system bus and CPU clock speed.
if i find it again i will post it here.
I ran into this same problem with older DOS apps. This problem showed up with the old Procom software we used to communicate with the Unix box. when the new computers for the new ERP software showed up this problem reared it's ugly head.
You may run into a couple of problems with running dos apps in W2K because the way it has to translate and flip things around to emulate DOS.
Go to Micorsoft Knowledgebase
and search on DOS apps and set the My Search is about to windows 2000. it gives you 4 articles, read those and the links to other articles.
I downloaded a patch file from Microsoft to fix Foxpro 2.5b for windows "divide by zero" problem. So far, I can run foxpro 2.5b for windows on a windows 2000 server already.
We run some patched versions of Foxpro 2.6b and we experience a lot of errors running on faster machines. The most frequent of these include:
* Combo and list boxes producing "out of memory" messages when selections are being made. The only way around this is to reduce the number of elements in the list.
* Watcom errors that stop the application running. Watcom is the C compiler used by foxpro 2.6. To fix this the user has to reboot.
Just thought you should be aware of these errors. We are currently in the process of re-writing in VFP6/7.
