I work in a school district and we've got 400+ computers with the "identical" configuration from Dell. I've got one (it WOULD belong to an Asst Superintendent) that can only burn CD-RWs. Unfortunately, we've ordered a bunch of CD-Rs. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this. All our other machines can burn either format and I've taken the CD that she's unable to burn to another computer and burned on it with no problem. I'd appreciate any pointers here.
Thanks

Can the drive read CD-Rs that have been burnt on another PC?

If you insert a blank one and look in "My Computer" what does it show up as in the drive?

Checked the drivers for the burner against other PCs?

Are you using the built-in burning capability of Windows XP, or are you using a 3rd-party app (Roxio, Nero, etc.)?
