My company is requesting that we forward our customer service number an external number . I discovered that i can redirect the lines on the phone by turning on Call redirect and programming the phones with feature 84. If i call the lines directly it will redirect because im calling from an external line.

My trouble begins when you call the main number the auto attendant will state press 1 for Customer Service it will forward to the internal extension but it wont route to the external number. It just rings since i turned off voice mail. I think its because your internally being routed.

So my question is can the option for customer service be changed to dial the external number instead of going to the internal extension? Does the Auto Attendant have that capability. if So how is it done? Thank you

you need a ccr tree option for transfer to EXT (meaning external number, not extension) and then put in the number. save the tree and test it out.

what type of trunks do you have, you may need to include the route/destination code in the digit string.

Thanks ill give it a try

as for trunks sorry im not to familiar with the technical aspects of the system all i know is we have a T1 thats dediicated to the phone system. I figured out the oprogramming but im still trying to understand the infrastructure portion of it.
