I was wondering if the 81C can be tied in to an existing PA system and if anyone has done this before. Basically we are looking to be able to pick up the phone, dial an access code and be able to speak throughout the building on an existing PA system. Does anyone have any experience with this? ANy help would be greatly appreciated...

you need a paging adapter, almost everyone uses valcom. then build a rdb and trunk, use the rdb acod for page access. most places use tgar/targ to block nonwanted stations from access.. if you need the code for building the page route, let me know.. a point of interest, you can build the rdb and trunk with trunk type page.. i use trunk type wat, that allows me to set the tfd timer, timed forced disconect, i have mine set at 120 seconds, then if someone puts the page trunk on hold, or hook flashes and ends up on a conf with the overhead, it will disconect.. also helps if the valcom does not rls clean.. this site used to haev a call out about once a week for page hangup.. that one prompt stopped that

John Can you please post the code for building the page route anyway? I am going to have to do this on an 11C this summer and would love to know I am doing it right.

Thanks

Depending on the current brand of paging control system or amplifier, it may already be prepared for input from your phone system. If it is Valcom, Bogen or TOA you are likely to be ready albeit you may have to use a impedance matching transformer.
