I have 5 users on one central pc...is it possible to set up one desktop and have any user who logs in go to that desktop instead of setting up 5 seperate desktops????

sort of a play on your purpose there..
why have 5 users logging on if you want them to have the same desktop? Why not a single logon?

on the other side of the coin..
delete all of their profiles on the PC, and setup the default user profile to use whatever icons you setup for them. ANy user that logs on to that pc will have the icons you made available when you setup the default user profile.

other ways are policy enforcment/desktop lockdown procedures. Either way - its just up to what you're most comfortable with. :) pbxman

To get the same desktop:

A) Setup a manditory desktop profile
B) Have all the user's login as the same person
3) Set windows to automaticly login

Those be your options. A, doesn't show you the "same" desktop but shows you a copy of the same desktop no matter who logs in.

Or... use the ideas in the post above for putting the icons in the default user. CJ

I set up the guest account without a password and set it up so that the guest could not change the password, this way the user can log onto the network and then just enter through the windows log on when logging on as a guest.

Thank you for all your help!!!

Add the icons that you want "everyone" to have to:

Documents and Settings >All Users >Desktop

This way you will only have to "maintain" them in one location and still gives each user the flexibity of mainatining his/her own desktop.

This better than having single logon since each user is restructed from seeing the data files of the other users.
