Hi there--

I'm looking to add two new campuses to our existing multi-campus network.

We're a mixture of Point to Point and VPN tunneled campuses.

I'm used to having 1760Vs on the campus end to handle the call routing back to our Call Manager here centrally.

I'm reading more about the 28xx series ISR.

1) My campuses that are VPNed back central run a 1760V with the "extra" Ethernet WIC. They have the VPN module and the tunnel runs using the 1760V.

2) Would the 2801 replace this solution? It appears it handles voice. It appears to have VPN built-in. It also appears to have 2 10/100 ports already with no need for additional WICs... and it appears I could use my FXO VIC cards from the 1760 in the 2801.

Thoughts?

2800 is great piece of hardware. I just switched from 2611 to 2811 and had only one glitch. My old router used wic-1dsu-t1 cards for p2p connections and found that the 2800 series must use wic-1dsu-t1-v2 cards. Make sure on compatability of old wics with new router. Also for the little difference in cost you might consider the 2811 as it is more expandeable. These routers are also SDM capable which is a great utility for configuring and monitoring the router. The boot time on my 2611 was 7 minutes and the new boot time with the 2811 is just a little over one minute.
