Can 1.2 Ghz celeron replace a 667 MHz, without a prob?

I just bought a 1.2 Ghz celeron processor, I'm wondering if it can replace my current 667 Mhz processor without having any problems with the motherboard. Or do I need to buy a another motherboard for it?

If the board is capable of supporting this chip then the bios will almost definately need flashing to recognised this newer processor.
This will need doing first, before you change over.
But visit the manufactures website to find out what the board goes up to.
There are other issues with memory, but first things first!

If i were you i would look up and see if the mother board would work by looking up the manafacturer altough being such a difference in prossesers i imagine that it would be incompatable.Altough if you are wanting a new motherboard for it they are relativity cheap.
