We are Microsoft RMS resellers so Im biased but I have not heard anything good about it. Unstable, bad feature set, etc. Never worked with it so I can say for certain.
If you’re on a small budget do a couple of things for yourself. Make sure the equipment is quality and usable with other systems (OPOS compliance is a good place to start). If the software is bad, and you have the type of equipment that can work with multiple systems, you can at least upgrade in the future without such a large investment.
Otherwise, find resellers that offer a good financing plan. A better system will make your biz more money, and you get what you pay for. Financing will allow you to get quality without the huge capital outlay.
Also, get a few references from the reseller from businesses in you industry, see how well the systems working for them.
