Hi all

Set up is as follows.

Avaya in the USA connected to a meridian (rel 4 ss 4.0.55) in Europe via h323 trunks. A call between phones works just great with good speech both whoever makes the call. However if an extension on the Avaya calls the callpilot (rel 4)on meridian then the caller cannot hear the announcement from callpilot. This occurs if it called direct or the call is forwarded form an extension on no reply. The codec used is 729ab and when we trace everything looks ok just no speech.

Has anyone sceen anything similar?

Regards
John

It may be different cause:

1-Codec negociation failure
2-H245 tunneling not implemented on Avaya side
3-Fast/Slow start setup on Avaya side

To avoid codec negociation failure, desactived other codec than G729 on SigServ AND H323 trunk on Avaya

The 2 other cases are only a trunk configuration
Give a try of each, or combinaison of 2

Debugging that failure may be solved by tracing H323 trunk on both side, or by sniffing the call path.
