We had a power surge on the PBX, I have everything working but the NTUB01AA (NT server 4.0 w/callpilot), as the server boots up I am able to log in ok, and watch the callpilot program starts as it loads, but it gets to a certain spot then crashes the server (blue screen of death) and reboots the server. I need to reload the callpilot 1.07 program to test if it is the hard drive...but the manual tells me to just hit the setup.exe on the CD, and follow the prompts, to re-install. However when I do that, I get an hourglass, then nothing when the hourglass goes away. At the same time, the callpilot tries to start again. I need:
1. How do I get callpilot to stop trying to load.
2. How do I get the setup.exe to work
3. Anything I need to know should I have to reload a new disk drive.
Thanx

There is a step by step guide to installing the CallPilot server for release 1.07 (AKA CrashPilot) If memory serves me you have to load the windows supplied from Nortel it is nuetered specifically for CallPilot. then you would load the CallPilot application.

Thanx
I had to replace the hard drive, I loaded it following the instructions, and disks that came with it, but when I told it to configure from the desktop icon, it asked for a doogle, The Meridian has no place to put doogle, and none were supplied with we purchased it. Is there a PEP that kills that request?

No, There should be a USB dongle on the back of the server in a USB port.

is your platform 200I. It did not have a dongle. You to answer the question about platform when installing callpilot software. If you get it wrong you have to un-install it and start over.

forgot if it is a tower (702 or 703) the dongle is on the printer port.

What Kind of PBX and release are we talking about? ? What kind of Server is the CallPilot Rack mount ? ? ?

This is an option 11c, NTRH30AA board,(Platform 201i) it appears the dongle is a round device, like a computer battery, and is attached to the board like one. When I looked at it, it indeed had my serial number printed on it. But no matter how many times I erase and reload the hard drive (following the install guide to the letter) I cannot get the dongle to release its content to the callpilot software (Callpilot 1.07). I suspect I have either a bad server board, or bad dongle, or incorrect dongle read driver.
Does anyone know if Nortel made a diagnostic program for the OPTION 11c NRTH30AA card, to just read the dongle, if so where can I find a copy.

I would suspect the dongle got fried when you experienced your power surge. I know the release of software is EOL so no help from Nortel But I would at least check with your vendor to see if Nortel will help with a replacement dongle. Probably under 300.00 for a replacement dongle if they'll assist you with getting a new one. Other than that yuou could try swapping out the actual 201i but I don't believe you have a problem with that since you are able to load software but there is always the chance that could be it. Your vendor might be best option they would have spare parts to try swapping out hardware in attempt to fix. Good Luck hope you can get it fixed.

Thank you all
but I decided to replace the NRTH30AA with it's new dongle. It also comes with an updated Server package and Callpilot... I started another thread because the password they supplied does not work, and they did not send any disks to reload the drive...so if you can help with that thread, I would appreciate it.
Again...thanks to all of you for your comments
