Callmaster 5 reciever????

I've seen it done, but no one seems to be able to tell me if its a special reciever or curly cord. Does any one know???

I've spoken to the distributor and several dealers but no one has any knowledge.

Can anyone else help me out

You may also order an optional handset D-Kit, so that you can connect a K-type handset to the telephone. This kit includes the handset and a handset cord, and can be ordered with one of the following numbers: (PEC 31293 & 31293A, Comcode 407904309).

Note: This handset is the only handset that can be used with the CALLMASTER V telephone.


Looks like the wiring is proprietary, but shouldn't be too hard to duplicate if you have a handset on hand to take apart. There are likely resistors, diodes, or capacitors in the handset...so It may be easier to just order the real deal rather than try to find a workaround.

Actually, the only thing special about it is the pinout. I have made my own handset cords for it. You plug a HIC cord into the extra headset plug. I had a lot of extra breakaway cords from M10 and M12 amplifiers (HIC will work but pinout is different). You then connect the M12 cord to the HIC. Cut the end off of the M12 cord and strip off about an inch of shielding. Then move the two wires in the center to the outside and the two wires that were on the outside to the inside and put on a new RJ10 crimp it and you are done. I know it sounds like a lot of work but if you have all the supplies it really only takes a minute or two. If you only need a few and you have the parts go for it. If you need a couple hundred you better have a lot of spare time, and a comfortable handle on your crimper.
