Calling Functions From Queries Causes Fatal Crash...

Hi all.

I've been working on an import routine that relies on various custom functions to manipulate the importing data. Until about 2 weeks ago, it was complete and working fine (I had run it approx 20 times with no problems), then all of a sudden, it started freaking out. For some reason, I can not call custom functions from certain queries if the custom functions accept arguments that are passed from the query. I can run the functions in code just fine, so there is a way around this, however, I am concerned that this may cause other problems with other areas of the database.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I have tried decompiling and recompiling (it is a 97 database), repairing etc, I have also tried recreating the database an importing all of the necessary objects, but nothing has worked. Also, FYI, this is happening on every machine that access the database.

Regards.

Stephen.

Any error message ?
The custom functions are well designed for Null value handling ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Cheers for the help.

Yeah, the functions are fine for Null values (well I have tested them for any potential problems here anyways). The strange thing is the function runs fine in datasheet view for the query, but it doesn't even run at all when I try to run the query! Access just dies as soon as the run button is pressed and I get a fatal error message saying that Access has caused a serious error and must be terminated.

Regards.

Stephen.
