Hi there,

I need some help with configuring a phone button to forward calls (also chained forwarded calls) into voicemailbox.

For example:
User A forwards to user B.
User B (extn100) forwards to VMail.

I need a button on user B's phone to forward calls into user B's Mailbox regardless of the original call target. In my scenario a call to user A is forwarded to user B and user B forwards to his mailbox.

I know about call forwarding to sytem shortcodes like
99100
VoicemailCollect
#100

I also know about the need to configure that shortcode first as 'Dial' and change it to 'VoicemailCollect' later.

I'm searching for a solution not to make shortcodes for every user (we talk about 200 users) and I don't like to program each users button individually. I hoped to create a button in a user rights group like
CallFwdAll -> 99E
and a sysSC like
99XXX
VoicemailCollect
#.
but this doesn't work.

We have VMPro but I didn't find any way to configure the start points there so that it works.

Everything would be easy if I could tell IPO not to send the user name of the first called user to Voicemail but the user name of the user who forwarded to Voicemail.

Thanks for your help

Create a shortcode:

SC = 99XXX
TN = #N
Action = Voicemail Collect
Line ID = 0

Forward user 100 to 99100 and all calls forwarded to extension 100 will be dropped in the mailbox of extension 100

Thanks intrigant for your answer.

I agree with you system short code. But that doesn't help to find the way to program the phone buttons for all users. I like to program them via user rights but I don't find any way to set one button for all users.

derfloh, if you create a user rights and assign the button you want to give to all users (in a spare slot for all users) and leave all other buttons blank, you can then right click in the User column and select "Copy user right values to users" then apply the user rights you created to the people you need to and click OK, it will not overwrite any individual users buttons if you left it blank in the user rights form :)

He wants a "universal" button to copy to each user station but it will not work as you have to change the source of the call which cannot be done otherwise as with a shortcode as I suggested.
If you use the "E" or "U" in a shortcode then that will always have the value of the original called number/name.

I know, I wasn't referring to the shortcode rather the method of applying a single button (or other settings) to multiple users easily :)

@intrigant
You're right. I assumed, that it will not be possible to use the same button programming for every user. So I will have to programm all the user's buttons individually.

Thanks @all
