A user has asked if it is possible to get caller name and number to pass to her cordless phone. Is this possible? How?

Currently the phone is built as a 500.

Thank you,

KCDEAN

you need to add a class modem card to your switch.. it's a little expensive but it gives you calling name and numbers to analog sets...

And if you are 3.0 and higher, ISMs - polish up your check book for that one

big time, i can't sell it to the hospital, and they rent rooms for 1200 a day

I checked into that myself and the software upgrade alone to add feature packages 332 and 333 was over $20,000

What software release are you on now? Feature packages 332 and 333 are part of the basic features included as of Succession 3.0, so it sounds like your $20K quote is to bring your switch to the current 4.5 release, not just to add the two CLASS features.

I recently added one CLASS ISM (8 stations) to my 81C for $146.47 (for the 8-pack), and I bought a CLASS Modem on eBay for $500, so it didn't break the bank to give it a try.

You can buy the 8-pack license ISMs one at a time (once your switch is at a current or sustained release), instead of the old paradigm where the licenses were sold based on your total TN count. Before I upgraded to Succession 3.0, the quote for CLASS on my switch was over $23K, with no middle ground.

You can get an NT5D60AA CLASS modem for about $1K on the secondary market. New cost is about $3500.

We are at 25.40 so 332 and 333 are not included.
Can't go to succession until they are ready to get rid of all the RPE. They don't want the expense right now of upgrading to carrier remotes and then upgrading to succession. That would be even more expensive than the 23K to get the the additional feature packages and the class modem cards.

It was included in the Enterprise software.

What processors are you running on? The current software release (4.5) is the last one to support the Motorola processors (CP3 and CP4), so when software release 5.0 comes out, if you're on Motorola processors now, the software upgrade will require a hardware upgrade to the Pentium 4 processor, and if you have an Option 81C, you'll also have to upgrade to Fiber Network Fabric. This will transform your "big" upgrade into a "huge" upgrade.

Changing your RPEs to Carrier Remotes now might enable you to phase in the rest of the upgrades (RPEs now, software in the fall, then processors sometime later). Release 5.0 is currently scheduled for release in the 4th quarter of 2006. When it goes GA, it forces the rest of the upgrades. Look for pricing incentives later this year.
