I am having a problem with getting the External Phone Number Mask showing the correct number. When I call my cell phone it shows the 5-digit extension of the phone and not the phone number mask. What am I missing?

the format you need to use is npanxxXXXX. the XXXX needs to be in caps and will transmit out the specific 4 digit number(DID) corresponding to that phone.

I am not quite understanding your response. Is this something that I put into Call Manager and if so where am I putting it at?

I want all phones to display NPA-NXX-1600 (main number) when calling an outside number. The phones show their extension on the caller ID of the recieving phone.

Thanks

In call manager:
Device / Phone / enter extension and bring up phone.
Select line you want to change on top left
2/3 down page look for Line x on device yyyyyyyyyy (MAC #)
within that section you will see External phone number mask.
enter the number you want it to display in place of what is there in your case npanxx1600. no spaces or dashes etc.
save and test.

Yes I knew how to set the mask.

That is the delemma. The phone number mask was already set up and is set to the main number on all phones and all phones still display their extension.

Maybe I did not explain this well in the beginning.

The easiest way might be to go to the telco and ask them to send the info you want on all calls.

Make sure your Route Pattern has the box checked to Use External Phone Number Mask.
