We have a Definity Software Release 11 with serveral TN747 (63115) and want to have Caller ID enabled in our system. I cannot find any info on just plain old caller id. Will the TN747s support this or is there another card available that will make this happen. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

What kind of trunks do you have? PRI? What release?

In the future everything will work...

The lines I am interested in capturing the information from are POTS lines. I am using TN747 cards and we are on Release 10 (not 11).

TN747 cards do not support caller id. you would need to go to a tn429 ICLID card, i believe.

thanks, tim

Although the 429 is labeled DIOD card, it is commonly used for POTS service when CLID is desired. I was surprised as well, but that is the case. We have about 20 of them deployed throughout our company.

A word of caution: On MV 1.2 and 1.3 (haven't tested lower or 2.x) if a trunk group is flagged for CLID=BELCOR and the CO doesn't send any CLID info, the call never rings anywhere. A List Trace indicates the initial siesure, but thats it. The only time the phone will ring is after the caller has hung up, which is also when the trace indicates the ringing. Personally, I think this is a stupid design (can't be a bug in that many releases). If the CO changes something on you w/o your knowing, it can kill your ability to get any calls. Thats crazy.

We found that out the hard way.

Hope this helps...

Thanks to all! The TN429D is the answer to my problem. I checked it out and it available for R10. I am sorry but I couldn't get info on the v8.
