We have an S8700 switch. We changed our service. Now the caller ID name comes first, instead of the number. Is there a way to change it in the switch. I am sure our local provider could also do this at their end, but it would probably take two weeks to change.

if its an isdn trunk,, you can set it with incoming call handling treatment,,,
per call bn/cpn.. you can set for cpn(name) only or pref, BN (Billing Number) only or pref, or none...

I am sorry, I should have clarified. I am talking about incoming calls to our DIDs. Can you change which caller id line comes first? It is an IP Flex line from AT&T. So, yes it is an isdn line.

We talked to AT&T and got rid of the name portion. Number comes like we want. It would be nice to have the name...but its working. We have a lot of bridged apperances, so we only get the first line of the caller id. Thank you

I don't know if you can set which comes first...
I set all mine to BN-Only, (and you can set it for all calls coming in on the trunk)..
we use phones with 2 display lines,, the second always has the vdn,, so we only have one usable line,, and reps would rather see the number....

We talked to an Avaya tech, and he said that you can not change which one comes first. Just the number for caller id is fine for us. Thank you very mich.
