Customer has a point to point T1 connecting site A to site B,They would like caller ID between the sites. I've been told this only possible with the point to point being a PRI.
I installed both systems about 2 months ago and everthing else is working fine. Here's what they have:
Site A:
mics, 7.0 xc, 1 6port combo, 1 6port exp
call pilot 150, vpn key codes installed and working
No trunk cards in ksu, left open for future PRI
3 ftm, 1 has the dti card in it. We pulled off 6 channels from the T1 for voice. 5 fsm
Site B:
mics, 7.0, 1 6port combo
1 dti card, 1 ls/ds for abound calls only, all inbound calls are transfered from site A
call pilot 100, vpn key codes installed and working

Lines used for the T1 are 061-067, unprovisioned 068-084
EM, pool C,ans mode auto, disa N

I have a the PRI key codes for future PRI, but have not installed it.
Target lines are assigned to all extentions, ring only
4 digit extentions
I've probably left out some important facts and will be happy to provide more info.

They only want the caller ID on Internal calls.
Thanks in advance

When you say VPN codes are you talking about MCDN because you will need them to connect the 2 as a private network.

I asked a similar question quite awhile back, and was told that caller ID is not possible on an E&M.

He would need to change to a PRI circuit between the 2 sites.

This is all pretty new to me, but I did use VPN, I was told
MCDN would network the 2 sites on 1 call pilot, with the VPN
I was able to create network mailboxes, at site A, I created a network mailbox for everyone at site B, and at site B create a network mailbox for everyone at site A. They are able to forward voicemails back and forth between sites.
This was a first for me, I was soooo happy.
One more cool feature, The employees use a back door number to call in to site A. You can enter an ext at site B and the call is transfered. This was an option on the call pilot 150, could not find it on call pilot 100.

Back to The caller ID issue:
Could I trick the system, Install the PRI key codes and program the lines for PRI???
Thanks

when you programm them as PR you need to use the SL1 protocol and that is what the MCDN gives you. Maybe someone out there has found a way around that.
