THE CONFIG:
-- Windows Server 2003 with a 4 port fax board installed
-- Using the built-in Windows fax services for outbound network faxing
-- Option 11C PBX
THE TARGET:
-- Have inbound faxes routed to the desktop via email
THE PROBLEM:
We have asked our local phone company and primary support for our 11C to setup 20 DIDs with callerid. Our intent is to have the inbound faxes come in to these 20 DIDs, have these DIDs point to our 4 fax lines, and route to email with a simple parse in the email server. The catch is that the callerid NMBR has to be changed to the called DID number ... we don't care where the call originated from. According support provider, what we are trying to do can't be done with our equipment and there's nothing they can do at their office to work around it.
THE QUESTION(S):
-- has anyone gotten this config to work? (i've seen it done with ease on a Centrex system.... AND i know Call Pilot can do this but we aren't using Call Pilot yet)
-- is my support right? somehow i suspect it CAN be done but they just don't know how
thanks for any input ...
