Any one have ideas on passing "caller ID block" feature access codes to the central office?

I have a Definity G3V8 with ISDN PRI trunking. All outbound calls have our main listed number sent as caller ID by the telco provider. Some of our users would like to block the caller ID on a case by case basis.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

On the station form: Per Station CPN - Send Calling Number? put it to r(estricted) for the stations that do not want caller ID.

Good idea, tried it but it didn't work. I think that function is for caller ID generated out of the PBX. Our caller ID is on the trunk side via the central office.

I'll have to do a little more research. Back to the manuals...

Are your users looking for per-call ID blocking? (If I call Mr. Smith, I want my number to be displayed, but if I call Mr. Jones, I want the receiver to see "UNAVAILABLE").

Maybe you can use a bridged appearence and/or a personal CO line?

Yes that is what I want to do. If I place a call out of the PBX I would like to block caller ID with a feature access code. Same scenario as if you were placing a call from your home phone and didn't want the called party to see your phone number.

I believe that I have to have the central office relinquish control of caller ID to us. Currently the caller ID is sent from the CO. I think that I can have the CO let me send my own caller ID, overriding theirs but I'm not sure.

I don't know if this will help, but in the feature access codes there is an entry: Per Call CPN Blocking Code Access Code: XXX - perhaps you could give that a shot...

There are laws that seem to be constantly changing, so be

aware "It may be illegal to block caller id"

These things vary from state to state and location to location. It also sometimes depends on why you are doing it.
Even more you have to be concerned about where you are calling to, and what the rules are there.

Hello:

I am trying to work through a configuration that exists on my s8500 switch. It involves personal central office lines. Am I supposed to be able to deliver a central office line as under button feature with only software programming or does it require hardwiring to the phone as well?
