switchhook flash = y
call wtg indication = y

2nd call beeps in the headset but the user can't use flash. flash just gives a new dial tone. What am I missing?? Thx

If I am not mistaken, you are hearing the call waiting indication tone. That will not let you answer another call; it just lets you know that someone else is calling in. I will usually turn this to "n" on the second page of the station form.

Tried that...swing and a miss. With no alert, the user doesn't hear there is another call. It's got to be the unit. I have other analog users (different kind of phone) that can flash to get two calls.
Thanks.

The way I remembered it worked was that you got the incoming call waiting signal, did a switchhook flash and then dialed the "Flash Access Code" to retrieve the call.

Do you have a handset lifter for the phone?

In the future everything will work...

Different phones have a different amount to time that the 'flash' represents. Apparantly the phone that u are using doesn't have the right amount for the Definity.

Da-vi'do

P.S. A message to all,if you want to get the best response to a question, please read FAQ222-2244 first. Thanks for the replies. I'll try the Flash AC and let you know.

Been doing some looking, and there was a feature available in Display System-parameters Special-applications that was for

(SA7409a) - Flash to Answer CW/Hold? n

Firstly, see if you have that feature enabled.
If not, then read on.
In order to answer a call waiting signal on an analog phone, you would need to do a flash, then dial the hold code, and that would bring you the new call.
The code that you would need to dial to answer the call waiting code is the one listed under

CAS Remote Hold/Answer Hold-Unhold Access Code:____

on the feature access code page.

Forget about what I said in regards to the Flash Access Code, that is for flashing the trunk that you are connected to, such as in a Centrex environment.

Here is the link to the Avaya Documentation that shows the interactions of the feature.

If any of the information that I have provided needs clarified, let me know.
