Hi..

I would like to configure call waiting on avaya ip office so that the user be aware of incoming call while he is on a call and the caller know that the user is already on a call by receiving a busy tone.
I have remove all and keep 2 but reserve the last call appearance, turn voicemail off, this way if they are on the phone it cannot receive a second call and the caller will hear a busy signal. In this case the user does not know if there is incoming call while he is in a call because of restrict last call appearance.
if untick the reverse last call appearance the user now can see on the second call appearance the second incoming call while he is on a call but the caller cant know that user on a call because the phone is still ring.
check of the call waiting will do nothing because the phones have call appearance and cant remove it, because when remove it the display of phone shown buttons invalid.
Instead of busy tone, is there a way to enable busy indication for the whole system. When enabled, calling those users displays "On Another Call" while the user aware of incoming call while he is on a call.

any suggestion?

Yes, upgrade to IP Office Release 10 which added that as a new feature.

Same stupid question that was asked earlier this week. I'm guessing that that got deleted by the site staff

It is not call waiting if caller gets busy tone. Busy tone signals the call has failed - everyone will hang up. They won't wait to see if they get answers

This is not possible and you need to rethink your requirement

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Hi ...

@sizbut: where can I find this feature when upgrade to release 10 ?

@mattknight: thank you sir, I did not ask a stupid question, I explained a problem and suggested possible solutions. I just asked its possible to indicate the caller that the user is on call (not hear busy signal but "on another call", on the same time showing on user second call appearance that there is incoming call while he is on call. Thank you for your understanding

Thank you.

The new feature only works for internal callers. Your question didn't actually state that was your need. For external callers it is, as matt implied, a pointless function if it could be achieved.

In 10.0 you configure it through IP Office Manager or Web Manager as normal. Look for the atrociously named setting "Advertize Callee State to Internal Callers".

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Hi ...

@sizbut: from the beginning talk about internal call.

Iam Sorry for misunderstanding.

Thanks

Also you should always have an extra call appearence button and "Reserve Last CA" checked, otherwise the user can't transfer an ongoing call if there is another call waiting.

Hello ...

Searching in the forum found the following thread:

and the following solution:

In manager turn on announcements and set it to either a single announcement (recommended) or dual announcements. Set the no answer time accordingly so the call has time to play the announcements before automatically going to voicemail.

Then in VM Pro - right click the user, choose add start points. Choose Queued.

Create the call flow - so a menu with timeout and 1. Point 1 to voicemail leave and set it to the users voicemail. Do not send timeout to anything so that it goes back to the "queue" on the extension if they choose to hold.

That is basically it.

you could also turn the voicemail off on the user (or set it to 999 seconds) and use the announcements flow as the only way to get to leave a voicemail.

That should be enough to help you program it :)

but rather than record message I would to upload busy tone message.
in this scenario, now available the caller hear the busy tone whule in the user the incoming calls appears in the second call appearence.

Thanks
