On our Option 11C, is it possible to check your voicemail by calling your DID?

Currently to check voicemail from outside the office, we will call our main number, then ask the operator to put us into voicemail, where she then transfers the call to ext. 222.

I would like to do something similar to my cell phone, where I can call my own number, hit pound when voice messaging answers and then put my password in to get into voice mail. It would just be a lot quicker bypassing the receptionist.

Thanks,

Hende

You can use ld 49 and convert the last 4 digits of your selected did to ext 222

ld 49
EQ chg
TYPE idc
CUST 0 ( put0 then enter)
DCNO 0 (put 0 or 1 according which table is used, enter)
IDGT 4565 (those are the 4 last digits of your did)
4565 222 (here the system will repeat your selection 4565 so put 222 (your voice mail ext. number)
IDGT (enter)
if you call your did,
it should work

Thank you for the painfully obvious answer johnpoole. I thought I had tried * before, but I was wrong. I just tested it and it works fine.

The idea to map the DID direct to voicemail is interesting serge9. I will keep that in mind if (when) people start complaining that pressing * takes too long.

Thanks,

Hende

I assigned 1 of my DID numbers to the Vmail pilot number so I just dial that DID number and Vmail answers, I put in my Vmal box number and I'm there.

I have Verzion Cell phone and I can dial *86 Send or dial my own number and when it ans it knows it's me calling and ask's me for my password.

I've done same thing as Ace. At one place, there was auto-attendant in the Octel vmx, so dialing the main number was automatically answered by vmx, employees just hit #, then mailbox number, then password.

No auto-attendant set up where I am now, but one of our DIDs goes to a Mermail menu service that will put employees into their mailbox.

call your DID number when your voice mail answers press *81 it will ask you for a mailbox number and then the password see if that works for you.
