How does this work for incoming call routing with wildcards?

How difficult is it to map this 12225551xxx to the destination extensions of 1000-1999? I read elsewhere in the threads about using "#"... would this be as simple as 1"#" ? or is there some other way to do this?

If I feed that to an auto attendant will the destination system variable be the masked 4 digits?

I have several hundred classroom's, and some support staff. What I was thinking was to have a generic AA (that wouldn't just ring the classroom phone directly) that would work for the classroom's and then have specific ICR's for the office staff. Primarily because I have more classroom's than office staff.

Seems like this may not work like I was hoping.
