Hi there,

We have a customer that wants the following:

DDI call to ext 4500, if busy or no answer to ring on ext 4500 and 4502.

Sounds easy right??

I have tried doing this by using a Coverage Path which has point 1 as Coverage answer group with both extension's in it, ext 4502 rings fine but 4500 does not ring.

I have tried using Bridged call Appearences but no joy.

Customer is using 6408D+ phones and the software is 9.5.

Any help appriciated!!

Cheers

On the second page of the station forms turn "bridged call alerting to yes" and they will ring for you.

Yes that will ring both phones straight away when the call comes in, but i want it to ring on 4500 first then to skip on to 4502 whilst still ringing 4500.

The only way to do this:

Put bridged appearances of 4500 on 4502 with delayed ringing.

The coverage answer group option will not work, because the phone system sees that it has already rang once on 4500 and will not ring there again.

Ok, when using Bridged Appearances is it possible to transfer back to the original phone.

I would believe that you will need two bridged Appearances on the second phone(4502), when i try this i get an engaged tone back from the original extension(4500) even though there is one spare call appearance?

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Perhaps I am missing something... Why would you want to transfer the call back to the original phone? Technically, it is still on the original phone. You should be able to put the call on hold and then it can be picked up on the original phone.
Thanks,
Perry

The customer wants this as the phones are in seperate rooms and ext 4502 is kind of like a PA to ext 4500, so if she receives a call for him she will want to transfer it back to him.

I know that they can pick up the call by using the call appearance but it would be handy to be able to transfer the call back to the original point.

Thank you

Add a Terminating Extension Group (TEG) and put 4500 and 4502 in the group. Then in the coverage path for extension 4500 put the extension of the TEG as the first point of coverage.
