Are there any call recording solutions for the IP office 500 v.2 that might be cheaper than upgrading from a essential eddition to the Preferred (vmpro) and adding the external server. I have a small office that doesnt really need to record alot off calls. they have 5 9508 sets and 10 nortel 7208 sets if that makes a differnce. and just got up graded from a nortel CiCS w call pilot.
I am an old Nortel guy just learning the IP office so any other advice on setting up VM pro if thats my only solution would be apprecaited.

You will not get a call recorder that's of any use for less than the cost of VM Pro, with VM Pro you can dictate which users, groups or incoming numbers need recording you can't do that with most 3rd party recorders and those that do are twice the price of VM Pro. One exception perhaps being Xima VRTX. But you need to specify type/number of lines/channels for an accurate answer. But call recording is always expensive......especially if you think VM Pro is expensive :)
