can someone point me in the direction to correct this?

yeah the tapes are rotated weekly.

Sounds like a tape drive problem. Have you replaced the tape drive? You might also try cleaning the tape drive with the tape cleaning kit. I've seen that work a couple of times but not often. What platform is this? 201i, 703t, 1005r or 600r?

Ahh. Internal tape drive. I have had one of those go bad and had to replace it and also a CD ROM drive went bad in one of our 1002rp servers and needed replacing. Have you ever thought about backing it up over the network to another PC instead of to tape?

we had to reboot the call pilot as we were trying to mgrate off of meridian mail, which symposium was using and we think rebooting call pilto caused the tape drive to no longer be detected.

we reboot the system again last night and the tape drive was detected and backups ran as programmed.

We have a Meridain SL100, Using CallPlot 4.04. My tape backup seems to be passing fine. But most of are backups are to a network disk. These are what is failing. With
MAS rc=41827. I'm assuming that a restarting CP will do the trick on getting it back working. But what caused the problem?

Not sure what event 41827 is but a couple of things that will make a network backup fail are:

1. The login credentials of the remote backup device changed and CallPilot can no longer log into it.
2. The hard drive on the remote backup device has filled up. CallPilot backups to disk do not overwrite so the hard drive can fill up relatively quick. You must delete old backups regularly.
