Can someone tell me when you assign an RDX drive as a back up device what is the path for the backup? I assume it is the drive letter followed by something, just not sure. This would be on a 600R server 5.0
1. On the CallPilot server, from the Windows Start menu, click
CallPilot > System Utilities > Backup Restore Tool.
The Backup Restore Tool dialog box appears.
2 On the Backup tab, select a device from the Select Device box.
PrimaryServerTape is the default device to back up to a local tape.
To back up to a remote disk, choose an existing user-defined
location.
3 From the Select Backup Specification list, choose the type of
backup.
4 If you are backing up to tape, under Additional options, identify
whether you want to overwrite the existing backup with the new
backup or append a new backup.
5 Click Backup to start the backup process.
Hi KCF...
im probably a little late with this answer, but in the event your still trying to find out this info, the correct path you should use is in the format using the drive letter of the RDX regardless of the type of server, it should all be the same format..... "F:\" (without the quotes)
on my callpilot system i also created a folder for the backups to reside, so my path is .... "F:\Backup"
motox2, thank you very much and you are absolutely correct. I was able to get the information out of the failing server and the path was G:
Thanks for the info.
Hi KCF..., Just wanted to pass on some other info i learned about the RDX drive the hard way. Apparently they dont work very well when using a long USB cable. I was using a six foot cable, and the device would act weird. I tried a different six foot cable wit the same result. It wasnt until i swapped it out for a 3 foot cable before it starting working properly. So anyway, maybe this info will help somebody. Cya!
