I have one user who's Message waiting light will not come on. I have MWA in cls. The user had a 2616, switched it out with another brand new 2616, nothing. Switched to a 3903 and still no light. What else would keep the light from not coming on? I have Call Pilot 3.0, and the MARP number is on key 0 along with the mailbox extension on key 0. Message Waiting DN in CP is on Key 0. I cannot figure this one out.

might be a bad port, i usually move a phone to the switchroom an connect it there to trouble shoot it. if a mov doesn't fix the set, post the tnb

Run a session trace in CP for that mb to see if CP is sending MWI.

On the PBX side, stick a MCK and MIK key on the set and see if you can toggle the lamp

Might want to add a Message Waiting Key.

looks just like mine except for the key 16 change

Try getting rid of key 1 and 2 temporarily as not sure if the MARP is causing problems with message wait light? I am assuming that the MW light on the phone works on another TN? Would also recommend to add key 16 in to assist proving fault as previously mentioned above.

had a thought about this one driving in this morning. is marp turned on in your switch? if so try deleteing all other appearences of this and check the mail to make sure the mwi matches the set. if it does change it to your dn, test it and change it back. might just need a bump (soft bump, not a hard one)

pick MWI from drop down box, enter mb #, enter date range, start or run.

the above step might not be exact, I'm not in front of a CP to provide the exact info...but the screens are very self explanatory once you're in it. This only applies to CP 2.0 system...its completely different on 4.0 system and I haven't had the pleasure of having to deal with traces on a 3.0

It's fixed. Deleting and re-creating the Voicemail box fixed the message waiting light. I don't understand why it worked, but as long as it's fixed. Thanks all for your help.

that works at times when the software is not in sync, add mwa to the set after the mailbox is built and ten mail has already recorded the marker saying the phone has no lamp, small things like that tend to drive us crazy

I am having problems with MWA lamp on a remote site networked via IP Trunk. Call Pilot works locally on site A, I am using HLOC and calls work fine, anyone ever have this problem? I can leave a voicemail but the light does not work on the phones? Both sites are Option 81c Rel 4.0, CP 2.2....

Thanks in advance,

Killian

KillianK check to make sure that you have NMS on both pbxs and callpilot.
Kwoerner put MIK and MCK key on a set and see if you can light the MWIndicator manualy. This will at least narrow the trouble down. Once you put the key on a set press MIK then enter the extension number, the lite next to the MIK key should blink showing that the indicator is on. MCK is used to clear the light.

also check the rcap on any d's between the sites.. that is another place to turn on lamps
