Hi Guys,

We're about to get a new Call Pilot install in a few sites across Europe.

I need to know how to:

1. Backup the orignal configuration that the telco creates for us
2. Backup voicemail messages
3. Test or somehow validate the Call Pilot Configuration and Call Pilot Voicemail Backups.

The call pilot servers will not be directly attached to our network, they will be on a VLAN. It could be an option to put a backup server on the VLAN though.

Can anyone help?

two simple options, the 1st is to create an image disk after the install is complete.. for me that's a must. my backup is done nightly to a tape, and weekly to a shared drive.. worst case it restore to the image then restore database from the tape.. think of the cp as any other server, follow that back up plans

Call Pilot 4.0 comes with an image on 3 disks. Get a copy of that. This way if the server crashes, the reload takes about 45 minutes, instead of the hours it used to take reloading the server by hand.

Back up the system and have them send the tapes to you and get more of the SLR tapes for backup on site.
