Hi All,

I've got what I think should be a very quick question. I'm trying to run up a test Call Manager 4.2.3 so I can do some EAP-TLS testing for Softphone and Cisco 7921G wireless handsets.

Unfortunately, I don't have Windows 2000 Server available as an option to install it on and it HAS to be on a Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 server. We are planning to install Call Manager 6.1 later this year and plan an upgrade path next year but I need certain elements tested for the Softphone and Wireless on our current environment which will be around for some time still.

The registry hacks have applied fine to Win2k3 but everytime I try and run the installer, it says that Service Pack 3 or higher needs to be installed (though Win2K3 SP1 should be superior to it).

Does anyone know if it's possible to run Call Manager 4.2.3 on Windows Server 2003 SP1 or am I stuck and need to find a Win2K SP3 server alternative?

I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Thanks in advance,
bdx

It's not going to work. CallManager 4.2 and earlier require Windows 2000 (plus all the Cisco registry tricks). CallManager 4.3 (which is effectively the same as CCM4.2 was designed to run on Windows 2003 Server, so if you can get a copy of CCM4.3?
You can download a 180-day evaulation version of Windows 2000, if you can apply the registry tricks you should be able to get this going.

Why can't you have a Windows 2000 Server?

Thanks for getting back Andy.

Windows 2000 is no longer a standard so I can't put it on our LAN (unless I firewall the hell out of it) I might try and speak to our Cisco account managers and see if they can organise a limited use 4.3 Call Manager license until we go 6.1 (which we've already got planned in the pipeline)

Thanks again for the feedback Andy. Much appreciated.
