At the request of my supervisor I recently created a new coverage path for the phones on our shop floor. This coverage path routes all external calls to an announcement that states "you have reached an unassigned phone number at ITT Industries....etc.". This is to prevent co-workers from receiving personal calls on company time. My problem is that calls coming into the switchboard can not be forwarded to these extensions. They are treated like outside calls and are routed to the system message. However, if a call comes into a supervisors extension that has permissions to receive outside calls, the call can then be forwarded to an extension on the shop floor. Why would these two situations treat the call differently?
